TODAYS FORECAST: Today Thursday will begin largely dry and bright throughout the region with all areas set to experience some pleasant sunny spells early on. During the late morning and early afternoon, scattered showers will gradually spread north eastwards across the region. During this evening and overnight a spells of heavy and possibly thundery rain will extend from the west to effect all areas with a slight risk of spot flooding on roads. Highs of 17 to 19 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow Friday will be a very showery day across the region with all areas seeing some spells of heavy showery rain from time to time. During the afternoon however the heavy showery rain may begin to clear some southern areas of the Midlands. Saturday and Sunday are both expected to dry, bright and warm days across the Midlands with an area of high pressure gradually extending northwards across Ireland. Temperatures over the weekend may well reach as high as 23 degrees Celsius making it feel very pleasant for the time of year. The best of the sunny spells will be found across southern and eastern areas, with the risk of some cloudier periods across the very north west of the region. The early days of next week will remain warm and dry across the region with sunshine gradually extending to all areas of the region. Temperatures by then may well reach as high as 25 degrees Celsius across the Midlands which is exceptional for early Autumn.
