[TOKYO] • Will the results of the US interim election and Japanese Lower House election affect the two countries foreign policies? In particular, will the results change their East Asia policies, including their approaches to US-Japan relations? • As 2015 will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, how should we address the question of historical recognition? • And what does the future hold for US-Japan relations? These were some of the key discussion topics raised as prominent political analyst Gerald Curtis (Columbia University; JCIE/USA board member) joined JCIE Senior Fellow Hitoshi Tanaka for the 2nd meeting of the current Tanaka-juku, a series of intensive evening seminars for young political leaders, corporate executives, journalists, and emerging intellectual leaders.
