TONIGHT: I read recently that Daft Punk was inspired by their favorite childhood film, Brian De Palmas Phantom of the Paradise. That totally explains their look and Paul Williams appearing on one of their songs. ...Its also one of my Dads favorite movies, watching it as a teenager with his band members in Argentina. So as a Fathers Day gift, I got him and the family ( Ozzy Gomez, Lillian Coya-Gomez, Jonathan Gomez, Christopher Bryan Gomez), tickets to the 40th Anniversary, Cast & Crew reunion & screening of Phantom of the Paradise hosted by Edgar Wright (director of Shaun of the Dead). Paul Williams (Swan), Jessica Harper (Phoenix), Gerrit Graham (Beef), & members of The Juicy Fruits will be there for a Q & A. ...The event is taking place tonight at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. ...Coincidentally, the Cinerama Dome is the same place where I went on a double date to the opening of the 2004 The Phantom of the Opera and witnessed 2 grown men in their 50s, with their wives in tow, break into a fight over seats, like it was a sporting event. Security finally intervened towards the end of the overture. ...Sean Charles Henry, Kirsten Rast, Vanessa Koman, Petey Dredd, Marcus Langston, Jo Ånpu Fantôme, Alexia de Ravenswood, you will be there in SPIRIT!
