TONIGHT! Outstanding young 20 year old musician and Queenscliff local, Alister Turrill, brings to the table a fresh sound with a blues, roots and folk infused, slide driven flavour. Co-writer of the winning song of QMF’s own first ‘Rip A Riff’ Songwriting Contest (2010) and Winner of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society’s 2011 ‘Youth In Blues’ Competition. Recently he also won the 2012 Apollo Bay Music Festival’s ‘Next Wave’ Performance & Songwriting Competition. With a lap steel or acoustic guitar in his hands, foot stomping percussion and passionate, powerful vocals, his will be an excellent live set.
