TOP TIP for those of you with slow combustion fires. Fed up with the soot build up on the glass door so much so that you cannot see the wood burning? We had the same problem with our fire at the gallery. Now the glass is brilliantly clear....damp a sponge and dip it in the ash on the floor of the fire, (you can also make a paste for future use) clean glass as normal and wipe of with dry paper towel, it keeps the glass clear for a lot longer. I may now try it on my windows
