TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN CHAM COLLEGES FOR 2015 INTAKE Christian Health Association of Malawi, CHAM is an ecumenical umbrella organization of church-based health facilities in Malawi owned by Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) and Malawi Council of Churches (MCC). CHAM in collaboration with Malawi Government and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) invites applications from interested candidates to enroll in the following programs to commence in April 2015. College Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery Technician, NMT: 3-year program offered in all CHAM Colleges as listed below. Entry Requirements: Age: From sixteen (16) years and does not exceed the age of forty five (45) years Full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with credits, 1 of which shall be in either Physical Science or Biology, plus 2 Credits in any of the Science subjects such as: Mathematics, Agriculture, Geography and Home Economics. NOTE: If a credit is in either Physical Science and Biology, the other subject of the 2 subjects should have a strong pass of 7 points. Currently, the cost of training (tuition and boarding) in CHAM Colleges is K615, 800.00 per academic year, per student for all residential students. However, the fees are subject to revision due to the recent Kwacha devaluation and rise in cost of living. CHAM provides opportunity for non-residential students at a reduced cost. Apart from the tuition and boarding fees students are supposed to provide for themselves the following: *Nurse council indexing fees *2 pairs of uniforms *Hepatitis vaccine *Pairs of black or brown shoes *Professional file *Blood pressure machine *Stethoscope *Gum boots *Theatre and labour ward gown (for second and third year) *Community health nursing attire Interested candidates may submit their applications to the college of their choice through the Principal: St John’s College of Nursing, P.O Box 18, Mzuzu. Successful candidates under the CHAM and the Malawi government scholarships are expected to be willing to work in /remote rural health facilities under CHAM and Ministry of Health . CHAM has competitive scholarships to be offered under partners mentioned above. Additional scholarships shall be offered under the sponsorship of Government of Malawi through the Ministry of Health.
