TRANSPARENCY MOMENT: Its a bittersweet time. As we speak, Im on my way to spend this entire holiday weekend with my one and only. Im excited to see her again. Shes been gone for a while, Ive had a challenging week and honestly, Im looking forward to being with someone I KNOW loves me and will be glad to see me. Sometimes, I just need that. Thats the sweet. The bitter is shes in St. Louis; surrounded by the most intense civil unrest shes ever seen in her young life. It saddens me that well have to discuss it; struggle to make some kind of sense of it when theres so much unknown - to somehow come to peace with what is known. Its not how I intended to spend my Thanksgiving, and yet I am exceeding grateful. I know parents personally who would gladly surrender an appendage to be going to visit their daughter in St Louis rather than the hospital, rehab, jail, or the graveyard. I am EXCEEDING grateful. There is far more sweet than bitter when your palate has been refined by loss and pain. We will have a happy holiday anyway and I truly pray the same for each of you and all whom you love. Celebrate! 💜💜💜
