(TRIBALS) BJP insensitive to missing tribal girls: Congress... Raipur: The State Congress leaders on Wednesday alleged that the atrocities, including sale of girls, rape and gang-rape, done on the tribal girls in Chhattisgarh during the last nine and half years of the BJP-led Dr Raman Singh Government have never been heard or seen in the State in the last 50 years. In a joint press statement issued here by ex-leader of opposition Mahendra Karma, deputy leader of opposition Rampukar Singh, senior MLA Bodhram Kanwar, former Minister Shiv Netam, vice-presidents Kawasi Lakhma, Pushpadevi Singh, general secretaries, Phulodevi Netam, Dr Premsai Singh MLAs Amarjeet Bhagat, Ramdayal Uike, Ramdev Ram, ex-MLAManthuram Pawar, district Congress presidents Lakheshwar Baghel, Rajnu Netam, Maheshwar Paikra and Naresh Thakur said that so far more than 10,000 girls had gone missing in Chhattisgarh. Recently, they said, through human trafficking, some girls from Jashpur have been sold to other states. An 18-year-old girl from Tapkara in Jashpur district was sold in the Panjabi Bagh area in Delhi about one and half years ago, but she anyhow escaped from there and reached her house some days back. During the last three years, 55 women and 26 girls have gone missing in Jashpur district, but the police administration and the BJP Government were not serious in searching for the missing girls and women, the Congress leaders alleged.They alleged that girls from far-flung areas of Jashpur, Surguja and Bastar district were being taken to metro cities in the name of jobs and were being sold there. The daughters of Chhattisgarh were being sold and purchased like cattle, they added. The Congress leaders said that heart-rending incidents were being happened with the tribal girls of the State, whereas the BJP Government in the State was taking out Vikas Yatras and making merry by bursting firecrackers and dancing to the tune of drum beats. They said that the head of the State Dr Raman Singh and the BJP Government were responsible for the missing of tribal girls and the atrocities being done on them. (Pioneer 16/5/13)
