TUESDAY 25th FEBRUARY 1997: I got a lift into work with Mum and so was super early. I put on New Order and read Music Week whilst Carol NVQ assessed Nic on whatever. I got the MiniDiscs out at £9.99 on sale with authorisation from Ian. 911s album *finally* arrived and so I put it on. Nic managed to sing Ive Got A Little Something For You to each track. Well, nearly. I had three visits from friends today. Im becoming quite popular in-store! First off, was Luke!! I could not believe it! After all this time! We never really spoke that much but he came to speak to me! Aaah, I wonder if hes still got that bod. Hes got a fantastic bod. I could just look and feel all night. I could get well horny. See, this is the thing. He asked for my number after giving me his. He said wed have to go out for a drink sometime! Yeah and more if you want, Luke. Ive fantasised about him so much ever since GCSEs and now he seems to be showing an interest. Aah! I cant wait! Maybe I can finally have him! He just turns me on so much. Mind you - he was wearing a 93 Brian Harvey hat and that was bad news. Next up was Katherine and Jo! Theyd just come back from college. They said theyd probably be coming up tonight and that was it really! Then, James came. I wasnt too bothered at first. A twice weekly visit isnt so bad. But he fluffed it tonight. After chatting about singles and albums and him working, he just stood there. In front of the till. Saying nothing. I felt annoyed. He said he had nowhere to stay if he came tonight. He said hed probably go to the Leighton pub. He repeated not having anywhere to stay, which to me meant he was hoping he could stay at my place. No way! Anyway, after hed stood there whilst I polished *and* did the bins, I said: Are you gonna go then? He said something along the lines of: I suppose so. I can remember at one point saying: Bugger off! but in as jokey way as possible. He said: Ive got a habit of hanging around, and I said: I know. He went eventually but not before saying I could call anytime. I think hes desperate for a shag. Its very difficult. If he had a great personality it could be so different. Still, after tonight there are a few more possibilities - lets go!... Right, we did all go up Fat Tuesdays but me and Jaime went first. We sat outside the closed Zoo Bar and watched in dismay as pigeon after pigeon went in - in groups too. It looked like it was gonna be so packed - and it was. You could not move between bar and wall. Now, Elizabeth and Graham were there. Because I knew Graham *did* like guys, I kept looking at him every now and then when we were near each other. Later, when me and Jaime were sat in the left wing corner, he was sitting with Elizabeth and I kept staring for as long as I could - until Jaime kept noticing. Graham *still* didnt look but maybe Elizabeth noticed. I didnt dance all night. I stood with Jaime until she needed to sit down and then stayed sitting with her. I spoke a bit with Taz. She told me she loved my top and I told her I loved her chunky purple rock! Mmm. Shes lovely - but Im afraid a bit of a pigeon. Katherine finally *RAN* to the floor when Oh What A Night came on. Jaime could not believe how busy and full of pigeons it was. She didnt want to come again! We were sat next to the alternative lot. At one point, I was just smiling and the long dreads guy waved hi with his hand. Its good to know I can make friends that way - without any grievances. He must be one of the originals. Newcomers are NOT willing to be friends with just *anyone.* At one point (after a guy and a girl had eaten each other next to us), the girl that was with them slipped her hand and Fosters Ice went all over Jaime! She screamed and laughed it off. I was glad - I was afraid she was gonna growl! I mustnt forget - disco DJ got the crowd doing the Conga - oh dear. A bit like an Eastenders sketch... Once downstairs, Alex, Elizabeth, Graham and Stonies man (and someone else I think) were sat there. I cant remember anyone talking. Jo was pratting around, doing her frog-Liam dance. I looked at Stonies man and hed been looking straight at me. Not an evil look, or a smiley look. But hed been looking at me right in the face. What did *that* mean! Of course, he immediately looked away but not quick enough for me to notice hed been looking RIGHT AT ME. Did it mean anything? Maybe he likes me - Ive never really taken much notice of him besides recognising his true indie qualities. Now, Ive got James if Im desperate, Al whos far away, Luke may be interested, Stonies man may be and Im looking out for Graham. Its all going haywire!
