TUESDAY FORECAST: The wind will continue to calm down overnight as temperatures drop back down into the 30s across the region. On Tuesday, look for lots of sunshine with higher clouds increasing during the afternoon. Highs will make it to around the low 50s. As a low pressure system moves up the East Coast on Tuesday night and Wednesday, rain or snow could affect the eastern portions of East Tennessee closest to the North Carolina border. In the higher terrain, we are looking at the possibility of several inches of snow with mainly a cold rain in lower elevations. Parts of the Tri-Cities could also see some light accumulations on Wednesday morning depending on the exact track of the low, but it should not cause many travel problems as temperatures are expected to remain above freezing on Wednesday across all of the lower terrain below 3500 elevation. However, Highway 441 through the Smokies to Cherokee, NC could become hazardous on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Well watch it closely. Thanksgiving looks nice and mostly sunny with temperatures staying cool in the low 40s. On Black Friday, lows are expected to be in the 20s during the morning with high temperatures in the mid 40s by the afternoon with sunshine. A warming trend begins this weekend with highs back into the 50s and low 60s by early next week. This is all ahead of the next rainy system that should impact us toward the middle of next week. -Meteorologist Jeremy Buckles
