TX RPOA E-News From Responsible Pet Owners Alliance Texas Outreach Crossposting is encouraged. November 7, 2013 NOW THAT WE HAVE YOUR FULL ATTENTION! Were hearing back from many of you (understandably so) wanting more information regarding Associated Dog Clubs of New York State, Inc. (ADCNYS), the organization leading the effort to file an injunction blocking enforcement of the onerous USDA/APHIS Rule affecting many small hobby breeders of all species of pets. Since we only have approximately 10 days until APHIS begins enforcement November 18, time is of the essence to receive donations for this effort. AKC stated in their October Board Meeting Minutes that staff will carefully monitor how the rule is implemented and enforced to determine true impact on breeders and whether further action by AKC will be necessary to protect their rights. Some of us are very tired of simply waiting and watching HSUS carry out their never ending agenda driven campaign to end all pet breeding and sales in the U.S. FYI ADCNYS is: 1. An AKC state federation (as is Responsible Pet Owners Alliance) akc.org/governmentrelations/federations.cfm 2. Founded in 1971 with membership of all types of AKC clubs, independent dog fancier organizations in good standing with AKC, or any nationally recognized registry. Including associate memberships for supporters of their objectives. 3. An Active New York State Domestic Not-For-Profit Corporation. DOS ID #: 308718. Exempt from Federal taxes under IRC Code 501(c)(3)(7). 4: Complete information and PayPal donations for the Injunction Initiative can be found at: keepourdomesticanimals Checks can be made payable to ADCNYS, mailed to Treasurer: Jeannette OHanlon 304 Beaver Dam Road Selkirk, NY 12158-9785 Leaders in this effort are: Sandy MacIntosh-Feret, Judy Kelsey and their attorney, Frank Losey. Some of you may know them as Judy and Sandy have bred dogs for over 40 years and are respected as Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) AKC breed judges. Sandy reports that money is pouring in from all over the U.S. and other countries and we are going to make this happen! Sandy Mac says We will stand up and fight for our rights, no more will we take the wait and see road and be pounded with regulations that will make most of us get out of breeding dogs. Stand together, Stand proud! Man, RPOA loves this woman! Can we steal her for our Texas battles? More on USDAs Ruling here: akc.org/governmentrelations/usda_aphis.cfm But remember the USDA rule applies to almost all pets, not only dogs! Breeding Females includes total breeding females of all species on premises. As usual this new USDA regulation is the result of Humane Society of the US lobbying at all levels of government to regulate pet ownership out of existence! Breeding females is not defined and at the discretion of USDA inspectors. Sounds like our Texas HB 1451 Dog and Cat Breeder Bill! Frank Losey reports that one of the USDA employees making those decisions case by case is Sarah L. Conant (a former HSUS Litigation Attorney) who has signed letters to breeders that assessed fines in excess of $90,000! You can sign up for TX RPOA E-News with the email address below.
