Takbeer! Eighteen people took shahadah today at Baldwin Hills Mall with WhyIslam Los Angeles, a premier project of ICNA. One new Muslim said I am so very happy to be called Muslim today! His contagious excitement brought both his brother and his father, who had been listening to the whole conversation, to Islam with him. A husband accepted Islam and immediately rushed over to his wife and explained what he learnt about Islam, and she also declared her shahadah. He said on reflection I know now - Islam is about upholding the Covenant of Abraham by accepting Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as His Last Messenger and uniting the family of Abraham, both from Ishmael and Isaac. Coming to Islam is like entering the House of Salaam and Shalom. Many others like him had the same impression and were very happy to become part of a faith today that unites and does not divide; and to know that God is not the author of confusion but clarification in every aspect.
