Take time today to appreciate the sacrifices of those who fought at Normandy 70 years ago. I still remember talking to Mr. William (Bill) Brannen and others ten years ago on their part in D-Day 60 years later. I got up to the beach and there were dead GIs stacked like cordwood, Mr. Brannen told me. Fewer and fewer of The Greatest Generation remain. We owe our freedom to them and the rest who are already gone.
