Taken December 31st, 2006, Philipsburg NJ along the Old Bel Del Branch Line at Brainards, across the river from Martins Creek PA. This once was a busy place for the PRR. They would have three trains a day stop to this spot where there use to be a turntable, station, coal dump, 3 sidings and of coarse the bridge over the river to PA from NJ. Two of the trains were just coal that supplied fuel for the cement plants on the PA side and other industry and a mixed frieght went across the river to interchange with the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad and Lehigh and New England railroad. Those two railroads did not come across that bridge, just the PRR. Norfork Southern still uses that bridge and visible track in these pictures but you can see there are artifacts of the Pennsylvania Railroad in the landscape.
