Talk about the power of a bad review: A NY hotel tried to charge guests for negative online reviews, but now it says it was just a joke. Union Street Guest House used to have a policy to fine wedding parties $500 for negative reviews for its old look. It says the buildings are old but they are restored. Since news of this policy---hundreds of people took to Yelp to complain about the hotels fine.
