Over the last month we at Bridge of Peace Syria have worked hard to successfully raised enough money for thick blankets, coats, shoes, hats and gloves to help the nearly 300 children at the Al Waleed Refugee camp get through the winter. The first part of our goal, the 300 blankets, is about to be purchased and delivered to the camp. We are so grateful to everyone in the US, Australia, UK, France, Canada and elsewhere who have made donations to make this a reality. At this point we are only $3,000 away from being able to purchase the remainder of the warm winter coats, shoes, socks, hats and gloves; please see the photos that I have taken. They are samples of the clothing we hope to be able to purchase very soon, hopefully within the next week. There is no time to lose, the temperatures at Al Waleed have already dropped below freezing and the children need this clothing to stay warm and healthy. It is so very rewarding to know that we are 2/3 of the way to purchasing the items that we need. Please help us. Our goal is within reach but we need your donation. I cross the border once again into Syria to buy the 300 blankets for children at the Al Waleed Camp. Two people from the camp will join me to load the blankets onto the truck we have rented and we will deliver the blankets to Al Waleed on Tuesday or Wednesday.
