Hi everyone... Sorry for the late post but I felt this was important. We love the fact our FB page allows us to connect with our citizens and keep them updated of important info and our activity. However, recently we have received a number of personal messages needing immediate police assistance for ongoing calls. Please do not do this. This page is maintained by me, the chief alone. I do not monitor it every second of every day. I may not get the message and respond in a timely manner in an emergency, as a 9-1-1 dispatcher does. Additionally, dispatch can call the on duty officer on our radios which we have on all the time. An officer may not be able to answer their phone or hear it ring if I call them. Further, Im not a dispatcher. I have not received the training they get nor have I had experience in this field. If u need an officer please call 9-1-1 or if you feel it is not an emergency, but still would like to speak to an officer you may call the non emergency line at 903-813-4200. As always, I am happy to answer general questions 24 hours a day, I would just hate for there to be an emergency and I not be in a position to look up our FB page after work hours. Thank you all for your understanding and we have 24 hours coverage for your needs and protection. In short, if you need the police dont message us on FB, call us on the phone.
