Tansi, hello and Good morning FB F&F! Well, the 2014 FSIN Pow Wow is now packed away in the tanned moose hide bag. Everything worked out, with no major glitches....hiy, hiy. To be honest I was considering this to be my last year on the Committee, but, we`ll see what happens in the next few weeks..NOW, if I`m still around and working on this gathering 12 months from now, I would like to see some changes for the 2015 celebration......I would like to throw out a few as per the following: After each GE & accommodation of protocol, go straight into inter-tribals ( Niymiytokamik-dance lodge is not a political arena, it`s a place for song and dance, to celebrate life, let`s respect that protocol)......Some big Family Dance Specials could be held prior to Grand Entry on both Sat & Sun mornings ( 13 Specials is too many as we then have to rush through 34 dance contest categories including the singing contest with only a 28 hour window from Friday evening to Sunday night )......limit # of MC`s ( 5 is too many and causes confusion ).....identify and secure 1 Title Sponsor to cover the cost of facility rental costs ( $ 48,000.00 ) such that admission is either decreased or eliminated.....Sponsor a feed once a day for all singers and dancers ( dang expensive coming to this Pow Wow, gas, hotel rooms, meals etc.....we do this for Elders already )....If admission is not eliminated, then, let`s incorporate a special SPOT LIGHT entertainment component during supper break ie. Hand Drum Contest or bring in some high profile entertainment because in my opinion, if we want people to pay at the door, let`s give them something that takes this Pow Wow to the next level......bring in Powwow and beam the Pow Wow to all those who can`t or couldn`t physically attend the celebration....alter the age categories.......I have several more ideas I would like to pursue, but, I`m going to stop here as I haven`t had a chance to hunt for almost 2 1/2 weeks and in the next few minutes.....THIS ELKAHOLIC IS GOING ELK HUNTING!!!!!
