Taroudant – The travel publisher Lonely Planet has unveiled the top destinations in the world to visit in 2015. Morocco is included in the list. Lonely Planet selected the kingdom among the top best world countries to visit in 2015 due to its proximity to Europe, unique style of cuisine and diversified and rich culture. Singapore, in Southeast Asia tops Lonely Planet’s top ten destinations, followed by Namibia. Morocco comes in the tenth position. “None of the country’s Maghrebi mystique is gone, but travelers can now explore the stirring landscapes and Berber culture in comfort and style,” Lonely Planet said in its official website. The travel publisher added that anyone visiting Morocco in 2015 “will see the city of Fez come into its own, as a host of glamorous, high-end openings have brought it a new level of sophistication.” According to the same source, the top 10 places are chosen for their merits and the unique experiences they may offer travelers. Lahcen Hadad, minister of tourism, has said previously that Morocco is “resolved to be among the world’s top 20 tourism destinations by 2020,” thanks to its numerous assets, mainly political stability, friendly people and proximity to Europe. According to the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report (WEF) published recently, Morocco is considered third most welcoming country towards foreign tourists with a score of 6.7, after Iceland and New Zealand, which ranked first and second respectively. Morocco comes in the first rank among the top five African countries that received most of tourists, according to the ranking announced recently by the World Tourism Organization.
