#TechieTipTuesday #Cloud storage seems to be taking over the market in the digital storage department. There seems to be a growing number of companies ready and willing to offer this feature. Dropbox, Box, and Microsoft OneDrive are among the many options out there. All of them have pros and cons, but we were intrigued by a relatively new offering on the market called Copy. The pros and cons of Copy in a nutshell are as follows: #Pro: Copy is competitively priced, has decent performance, and even allows users to download entire folders to your device. #Cons: No universal place to view recent uploads and downloads. #TheBottomLine: Copy is an affordable and simple storage program that works across multiple platforms including, iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and even Linux. Cloud is the brainchild of #BarracudaNetworks, a business-focused IT company. The concept of cloud storage is simple. It offers the convenience of uploading files so you have access to them anywhere (on any device with the program) as long as you have internet access. It can work as a backup system as well. More on this later. The cool thing about Copy is that it offers 15GB of free storage. Thats awefully generous compared to other cloud storage companies. Google Drive also offers 15GB free, but thats shared between your Google+ Photos account and Gmail if you have those accounts as well. It is really easy to sign up. You just need to sign up with an email and a password either on the app or through their website. And, you can start using it immediately. If you require more storage, you can purchase 250GB at a rate of $10 per month. Or, you can elect to sign up for a business account priced by the number of users. You can opt for the free plan for up to 5 users or a paid plan staring at $79 per month for 1TB of storage and 10 user access. With each referral, you earn 5GB for free too. (Note: We do not currently use Copy, so we do not gain any benefit from your subscriptions.) Copy offers an almost bare-bones approach to its user interface, so it shouldnt be terribly difficult to navigate once you get the hang of it. The PhotoCopy photo backup feature can be set to automatically upload photos if desired. Cloud storage allows for convenient storage and file sharing in the instances where you have a multi-user account. This is a fantastic way to store photos, video, and even mock ups of design projects. Pretty handy! But, cloud storage, does beg the question of security. Yes, your files are encrypted once they are uploaded to the network, but we would still suggest keeping your more important files on a good ol fashion personal plug-and-play backup device. How do you store, protect, and share your files #divadolls? Drop us a line to share your thoughts. For more on #CopyCloudStorage, see: cnet/products/copy-android
