Teesside League Reports Saturday 13th September 2014 Following this week’s results the First Division has a new leader in Grangetown Boys Club who beat Whitby side Fishburn Park 3-0 with a first minute goal from Declan Morrison, the same player score again midway through the first half to make it 2-0 with Michael McGowan with his 10th of the season added the third in the second half to secure the points, Whinney Banks YCC slip down to second place after being held to a 1 – 1 draw by visitors Stockton West end who took the lead through Ben Turner two minutes into the second half, a goal from Jack Campbell two minutes later made it 1-1 which remained the final score, Thirsk Falcons move up to third place after going behind to a Michael Dowse goal at Redcar Newmarket after half an hour, Gareth Barber made it 1-1 just before half time, five minutes into the second half Tom James gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead and a much disputed penalty with fifteen minutes remaining from the same player gave the Falcons a 3-1 victory, Richmond Mavericks found themselves 2-0 behind at half time when they visited North Ormesby, Michael Murphy gave the home side a 5th minute lead and five minutes into the second half Adam Murphy made it 2-0 but with twenty minutes remaining, Wayne Gredziak pulled it back to 2-1 and ten minutes later the same player rescued a point for the Mavericks when he made it a final score of 2-2, Thornaby Dubliners took an 18th minute lead when they entertained BEADS, Matthew Allen opening the scoring but a minute before half time Karl Lilly pulled it back for a 1-1 half time score line, in a tight second half the game looked to be heading for a draw but with two minutes remaining James McGowan scored to give BEADS a 2-1 victory, Lingdale entertained New Marske who took a 2-0 half time lead with goal from Ryan Bennions and Luke Johnson, twenty minutes into the second half Dean Wilson pulled it back to 2-1, but with ten minutes remaining Lee Williamson looked to have sealed New Marske a 3-1 victory, but in the last minute Sean Howes pulled it back to 3-2, but New Marske saw out the match to secure their first victory of the season. Great Ayton United progressed to the second round of the MacMillan Bowl League Cup after a hard fought 3-1 victory at second division Billingham FC, a Wayne Stephenson brace put Ayton 2-0 into a half time lead, Liam Wilson made it 3-0 twenty minutes into the second half before Reece Lenham pulled it back for a final score of 3-1. St Mary’s College are the new leaders of the second division after they beat Redcar Athletic 3-1, Ryan Mackey scored twice in the 15th and 20th minute before Redcar Athletic pulled it back for a 2-1 half time score line when Kyran Clark scored, in a tight second half Jonathan Squires made the points safe when he made it 3-1 with twenty minutes remaining, Boro Rangers bounced back from last week’s shock defeat and trounced Billingham Synthonia 9-0 with Dean Talukder opening the scoring after eight minutes, Peter Snaith scored a first hat trick resulting in a half time score line of 4-0, Talukder made it 5-0 ten minutes into the second half, James Dillon made it 6-0 on the hour, Talukder scored his hat trick goal a minute later to make it 7-0, Jack Turner made it 8-0 with fifteen minutes remaining and Talukder with his 4th of the match made it a final score of 9-0 with five minutes remaining, Yarm FC slipped down to third after an outstanding entertaining 5-5 draw with Guisborough Globe, after five minutes Jamie Dunn gave Yarm the lead, but Joe Gibson pulled it back to 1-1 five minutes later, Rob Bennett who normally plays in goal, gave the Globe a 2-1 lead ten minutes later, but Jack Dalton made it 2-2 for half time, five minutes into the second half Matthew Bayston gave Yarm a 3-2 lead and a penalty from Dalton made it 4-2 with Dunn seemingly wrapping the game up at 5-2 with twenty five minutes remaining, but Lewis Reeve pulled it back to 5-3 with Bennett making it 5-4 with fifteen minutes remaining before Peter Dixon scored in the 80th minute to make it a final score of 5-5, Cargo Fleet took a 15th minute lead against visitors Staithes athletic who were looking for their first points of the season, Steven Starsmore made it 1-1 five minutes before half time, two minutes into the second half Starsmore scored two goals in two minutes to complete his hat trick and give Staithes a 3-1 lead before Ryan Thompson made it a final score of 4-1, Staithes local rivals Loftus Athletic also fell behind when they entertained high flying Redcar Town, James Kesterton scoring after only two minutes, which remained the only goal of the first half, two minutes into the second half, a Rob Jones penalty pulled it back to 1-1 and two minutes later Michael Thompson gave Loftus a 2-1 lead, with fifteen minutes remaining a second Jones penalty gave Loftus a 3-1 lead and with just five minutes remaining Carl grey made it a final score of 4-1. In the first round of the Second Division Burness Plate, Kader entertained Middleton Rangers who took a 30th minute lead through Pawel Rozen, just before half time Lewis Harland pulled it back to 1-1, ten minutes into the second half, Lewis Cole gave Kader a 2-1 lead and with ten minutes remaining Daniel Emmerson made it a final score of 3-1 and a place in the second round.
