Ten Years ago, I took a chance and bought a Fuji Film FinePix S7000 digital camera. It was my first digital….and my first Fuji. Prior to that, I was shooting strictly Canons, Yashica’s, and an old Russian Hasselblad knock-off. Now, after 10 years of almost constant daily use, two tours in a War Zone and literally thousands and thousands of photographs…my great little camera took its last shot. The CCD, (Charged-Couple Device…..sounds like something two excited people use for FUN!), that little computer chippy part that collects the light from behind the lens and converts it into electrons and chocolate chip cookies, finally gave up the spirit. I thought I almost had a “rescue plan” in that I had another similar “broken” Fuji from Nikki, and I thought I could switch CCD’s. The lenses were exactly the same….but the harnesses from the CCD to the rest of the camera functions were very dissimilar. Crap !!! That little box was almost the best camera I ever had.
