In addition to a traditional Teacher Appreciation Week - TopicsExpress

In addition to a traditional Teacher Appreciation Week proclamation, State Superintendent Tony Evers and the Department of Public Instruction are trying something new: a Thunderclap as a way to loudly express appreciation to teachers, first thing in the morning on May 6, Teacher Appreciation Day. We encourage you to sign on, and ask you to spread the word TODAY. (See thndr.it/1rNvzbe) What is a Thunderclap? Here’s how it works: if at least 100 people sign on (and of course we’re hoping for more), each of those people will simultaneously broadcast the following message via their chosen social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr): “Thank you, teachers of Wisconsin, for all youve done for students! Its Teacher Appreciation Week. #ThankaTeacher” To sign on to the effort, go to thndr.it/1rNvzbe, register or login using a social media account, and spread the word. Although normally it would be good to have a little more lead time for these campaigns, this is our first effort -- and we want to see how loud our message of thanks can get!
