Ten years ago today, I was dropped off at Jester for what would be the start of an amazing journey in this beautiful city, that I love! Stepping foot on a campus with a higher student population than that of my little town, and not knowing anyone, was a bit overwhelming, but most definitely exciting! Looking back I see, and appreciate, how I’ve grown as an independent woman, the struggles, and the many blessings. I am glad I’ve never forgotten where I come from and still hold a strong relationship with my family. I am most definitely grateful to my parents for understanding my free spirit and encouraging me to pursue my dreams, even if it meant letting go of the reins. To summarize it all, I stumbled upon this quote which I liked, “I like being a strong, independent woman, and to be honest, I was never afraid to be on my own.” -Dido Armstrong. Yay ten years! :-)
