Terror Attack Drama to Hide KKNPP Failure and Save Russians When the going gets tough for the ruling class, the ruling class takes up the terrorist card! And that’s exactly what has been happening in and around Koodankulam for the past one week. The Home Ministry and its central intelligence agencies in Delhi have been crying wolf for the past few days that foreign terrorists are trying to enter Tamil Nadu from Sri Lanka. There has been no concrete material evidence to prove their claims or any action plan to reassure the public. Do it makes the people of India wonder if the discredited central government and its intelligence agencies are trying to stage a terror attack in Tamil Nadu; divert the national attention from the failed economy, missing Coal Block files, and all the rampant corruption scandals and above all, to conceal the hideous Koodankulam project failure. It is pertinent to note here that the Russian-made and Russian-repaired infamous submarine Sindhurakshak that exploded on August 14, 2013 and killed 18 precious Indian lives was headed to some unknown destination for some unknown assignment. There are speculations that Sindhurakshak was actually headed to Koodankulam area to fake “a terrorist attack” on the Koodankulam nuclear power project; save the Indian nuclear authorities and their Russian suppliers from scams and shame; and most importantly, blame the “attack” on the anti-KKNPP protestors and bring the whole Koodankulam issue (both the project and the protests) to an unceremonious close. On August 28, 2013, the Tamil Nadu ADGP Mr. C. Shylendra Babu flew to Thoothukudi at 8:40 am from Chennai and proceeded directly to Koodankulam to review the safety and security arrangements there at the nuclear power plant. He is said to have held a meeting with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, Coastal Security Group (CSG) officers and the KKNPP officials. Mr. Babu also witnessed the demonstration of unmanned aerial vehicle (developed by, quite thankfully, our own Anna University students and not by some shoddy Russian company) to monitor the coastal areas. It is important to note here that a subcontractor and close associate of the KKNPP, one Sahaya Kapoor and his brothers, exploded five country-made bombs in Idinthakarai village on August 24, 2013 at 10:30 pm. The PMANE immediately sent a written petition to the Chief Minister’s Cell, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Tamil Nadu DGP, ADGP (Law and Order), South Zone IG, Tirunelveli DIG, Collector, DRO and the Superintendent of Police of Tirunelveli district, and the Cheranmahadevi RDO by email at 12:13 am. We also informed the world through Facebook about the bomb attack through press releases and updates at regular intervals at 12:16, 12:56, 2:19, 3:01 am, and 12:56 pm. We sent three Idinthakarai women who witnessed the bombing with a written petition to the Koodankulam police station but the officer in-charge there, Sub-Inspector Mr. Thirumurugan, refused to file a case or give a receipt for the petition. However, the Koodankulam Inspector Mr. I. Rajapaul and the Vallioor DSP Mr. Stanley Jones colluded with the KKNPP officials and filed serious cases against 65 people of Idinthakarai. Only after we took up the issue with the Tamil Nadu DGP and other officials and the press, did the Koodankulam police half-heartedly book the KKNPP subcontractor and other bombers on August 25, 2013 at 18:30 pm, some 20 hours after the actual incident. The local police in collusion with the KKNPP officials tried their level best to protect the bombers and even gave police protection to them and their houses at Parameswarapuram village. Is this any way to fight terror and terrorism? The pro-KKNPP elements in the nearby Koothenkuzhi village are exploding country-made bombs there on regular basis. The People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) has been saying loudly and clearly that the KKNPP is a failed project that has used substandard and shoddy components and engaged in massive financial irregularities. In order to protect the involved companies, the middlemen, politicians and bureaucrats, the government of India, the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) and the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) all together have enacted a fake commissioning drama in July 2013. The KKNPP Site Director Mr. R. S. Sundar went on record saying that 400 MW power would be generated at KKNPP-1 from the end of August 2013. So far nothing has happened there. Now all these officials along with their Russian patrons are desperately trying to hide their abject failure. Even as the Indian economy is collapsing slowly but steadily, the Russians are making a killing out of all the exorbitant and worthless projects such as Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier, MiG fighter planes, Sindhurakshak submarine, KKNPP, Sistema and many other projects. The Indian ruling class is playing the dangerous “terror attack” game here in Tamil Nadu. We earnestly hope that the innocent Indian lives will not be exposed to any danger in order to protect the powerful criminals in India and their Russian cohorts. Brothers and sisters all over India, please keep an eye on us! The Struggle Committee People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy Idinthakarai 627 104 Tirunelveli District August 29, 2013
