Terrorists kills 12 ppl in France and the whole world stand still. I see many updates suggesting that the world is racist and unfair because little sympathy is shown to Nigerian massacre, to Pakistan tragedy and so on. But here is point that seem to escape our victim mentality. European and Western leaders responded with swift action and condemned the barbaric attacks on the people of France and its right to freedom of speech. The French government mobilized citizens into rallies and night vigils. Can we speak the same of the Nigerian massacre? Can we speak the same of Pakistan tragedy? How does the Nigerian government, its people and African Union respond to continued Boko Haram genocide? The same question goes for the middle-east Pakistan? How did we, in South Africa, respond to Marikana Massacre? We must be the first to demonstrate to the world how important we value the lives of our people before we can expect them to take us serious. The people of France are saying 12 lives too many.
