[Testimonial by Anum Ahmed Pirkani on #AzadiSquare Movement] Just a small question before I begin. Before all this Kaptaan excitement, how many of you really wanted to meet your leader, tell him how momentous their vision and determination is for the progress and development of your nation? Let me rephrase the question. How many of you ever thought you can meet your leader. I am talking about a common person like me, with no political background, with no hi-fi contacts. Not many. Right? Well guess what, a common person like me was allowed in my leader Imran Khan’s container. No interrogation, no suspicion, nothing. As I entered his container, I was directed to the container’s roof & stayed there for around half an hour. There, I met Murad Saeed & Faisal Javed; the modest people in the lot. Imran Khan was busy in an interview so, I requested Faisal Javed to give him the card I made for him. With a smile, Faisal replied that I should give the card to Khan Sahab myself and accompanied me to the container. There my inspiration was; sitting on his sofa, giving an interview in his congested container (trust me, his container is much smaller than it appear in the pictures and on television). Faisal Javed asked the people there to assist me so that I can personally deliver the card to my leader. Imran Khan, in the midst of his interview thanked me for the card with a gratifying smile. This, no doubt was one of the best moments in my life. As I stepped out of the container, I pondered over why was I allowed in the container? Why wasn’t Khan Sahab apprehensive like other politicians? The answer was simple. Only those who are burdened with cruelty and dishonesty are petrified that people might hurt them. My Kaptaan does not need to hide from his supporters, because he is righteous & fair. He is an inspiration for us. He wants us to be valiant and fight against oppression, and not be afraid of anyone except Almighty Allah. He is speaking what many of us never expected any leader to speak. He believes that this country is worth fighting for and living in. He is not inflexible, he just sticks to what is right and don’t compromise on his principles. Raymond W Baker in ‘Capitalisms Achilles Heel’ states; On the other side of Earth, a Pakistani banker groused to me, “We have lost the distinction between what is legal and what is illegal. No one hates people who get their money through illegal means. Society is not acting as a restraint.” I felt ashamed after reading this. This is how we are reflected in international community. A corrupt nation who have refused to stand up for their rights. Is this how we want ourselves to be portrayed? Our politicians have put so much emphasis upon the false that the significance of the truth has been obliterated. Instead of genuine and sincere service for the nation, these politicians have projected self-obsession. We got immune to the corrupt system & were afraid to call a spade a spade. We need a positive stance & change in our system. Our people and our land minus these corrupt leaders have every capability of being an exemplary nation. The visionary Imran Khan tells us that morals are what keeps a person alive, alive of the situation around him. In his book Party Politics, Henry Ford says “The only motive that can keep politics pure is the motive of doing good for ones country and its people.” IK gave us the courage to speak against kleptocratic system. He is a protagonist of honesty and valour who showed how to love our country, how to be resilient, determined and meticulous. Khan opened our eyes to the fact that politicians are answerable to us for every penny they spend as that is our tax money, not their private property. The success of Karachi, Lahore, Mianwali Jalsas prove that Imran Khan is the voice of this nation; not a particular class. It goes to Khan’s credit for mobilizing Pakistani women at a level that is unprecedented in the country’s political history. Imran Khan has showed that Pakistan’s politics is not a lost cause. His words and the passion towards betterment hits me with an earnest realization; Imran Khan could possibly be the solution to solving Pakistan’s enigma. That day is INSHALLAH not far when not only Pakistanis, but the world will be talking of how a nation awakened and reached the glory through the seminal efforts of a visionary leader. Imran Khan will surely be acknowledged with a huge sincere ovation when he’ll revive Pakistan in the comity of Worlds Nations. From: Anum Ahmed Pirkani, a patriot Pakistani and a proud Insafian.
