Testimony Time; This time of year we are often reminded of families in need. It is on my mind a lot right now. Please know that as you support your Church and its missions you are doing far more than supplying pastor, a church building, etc. This time last year was really rough for my family. One of us out of work for 12 months at the time, and one of us unable to work for 6 months because of a serious medical condition, and a complex surgery in the middle of December. Savings were exhausted, unemployment would run out at the end of that month, and hope was SO far away. I was not sure which issue to worry about first. I had a daughter in her last year of school, and a son who was helping support us all. Only those closest to me knew the struggle...but it was those closest to me who provided that hope I was grasping for. I had boxes of food appear at my doorstep. I was blessed with enough money to put a few items under the tree for the kids. It was the hand up I desperately needed at the time, and although it was hard for me to accept, it showed me the true meaning of Christmas. Shortly after that I had the faith to know we would be alright when taking on a costly move to a better neighborhood, and daily I am reminded that faith, hope, and love will get us through it all. SO this year I want to ask you something. What can you do to provide someone a little more hope for someone? Your time, talent and treasures make the difference far more than you will ever know. There are many opportunities for you to help someone who needs a little hope. If you have the time----help pack boxes or deliver boxes for Helping Hands the 19th and 20th (contact Vanessa) And if you have some treasures to share, contact Pastor Shane or Vanessa about helping monetarily for families in need, or simply place an envelope in the Joy box for local outreach missions. And for those who specifically helped me last year, your love will never be forgotten. Blessings, Annette
