Testing the new Liscío glass, a sample of which arrived today, with the new Beaujolais Primeur (ditto). The latter is, frankly, a great deal better than expected on the basis of the vintage reputation. Fruity, bright, crisp. The glass on the other hand came with an expectation-building fanfare. Beautifully packaged and very stylish to look at and in the hand, it has grace to the point of looking delicate and frankly fragile. But the boasts are of dishwasher and knockover ability! I shall put neither to the test, because its such a beautiful object to have and hold. Maybe its why the wine tastes how it does! Rod Smith MW
