Text Version Asana is a collaboration tool that centers your team’s communication on tasks. It offers a single place to plan, prioritize, and communicate with your teammates about work. The interface is divided into three sections: The center pane is the main view where you organize tasks. The right pane is where you manage the details of each task. The left pane is where you search, navigate between projects and visit your Inbox or your personal task list. Let’s walk through how it works: The first thing you’ll want to do is create a new project. You create and browse projects from the left pane, and you can start a new project with a single click. Once you’ve created and named your project, you can fill it with tasks. To add a new task, simply select a line in the center pane and start typing. Keep going until you’ve captured everything that’s in your head. With the tasks written down, select one in the center pane and go to the right pane to flesh out the details. You can include a description, assign the task to someone on your team, give it a due date, and add other useful information like subtasks, tags and attachments. To ensure your teammates stay in the loop, simply add them as followers. Now, when you comment on the task, all of the followers will get a notification. And when someone responds, the task updates in real time. This way, all the history, context and conversation about the task stays with the task, itself. To stay on top of these conversations and everything else that’s new, you can use Inbox. Inbox shows you all the latest activity on the tasks and projects you’re following, making sure you’re always up to date. Asana works because it keeps everyone organized, aligned and in sync. We built it because we believe that when you and your team spend less time sitting in meetings, plowing through emails, and trying to stay on the same page, you have more time to do great things.
