Thaaaaaat........was fun. Spent my Sitka Thursday evening officiating MY first match of the high school volleyball season. Travel for work, knee surgery cost me the first two weeks of the season. It was fun to be around the court again. I felt a little giddy, even though Im limping a bit, with my repaired knee and - even though I know I have a ways to go - I still was happy to be on the volleyball court, up on the stand for the Mt Edgecumbe vs Petersburg volleyball match.... MEHS came out and controlled set 1 pretty handily......but on the way into set 2, the Lady Vikings found some enthusiasm and hung tight, making some great hustle plays, touching the ball on blocks, giving themselves hope and positive attitude....and set 2 was a close one. They didnt slow down in set 3 and it was a close one to the end. The Lady Braves are talent laden. They won the match in 3 straight but had to battle through set 2 and 3 to get there. Come on out and enjoy some fun and entertaining volleyball Sitka! Petersburg played last night at SHS, tonight at MEHS, and will play tomorrow evening (Friday) at SHS and then finish out their visit with a final evening (Saturday) at MEHS. These are all conference matches that count for seeding for the Region V tourney where only one of these three fun teams will represent SE Alaska Region V at the state tourney! Come get a bag of popcorn and relax and enjoy! PS - this goofy referee and his fixed knee hear a rumor that if I stick to PT well, once I get started, that I maaaaaay actually touch a basketball court wearing a pair of basketball referee shoes, whistle, and the gear at some point this winter!......imagine that - after being away from the court for so long...... Yep, I am a little giddy - but I know I need to stick to the PT, keep up this new and improved food intake, get into shape, drop about 500 pounds.......and then, here I come! *grin*
