Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in a Witney pub earlier today (27/4/14). At 12.34am police officers were called to The Red Lion Hotel in Corn Street to reports of a fight that had taken place and a man had suffered serious injuries to his head and body. The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries. Det Insp Steve Raffield of Witney police station said: “This assault took place in the busy pub, which left a man in a serious condition and so we would urge anyone who has any information about this incident and who has not already given information to the police to please contact us as a matter of urgency.” If you have any information please contact the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101 and quote URN 31 27/4.
