Thank you Josh for sharing this! To everyone whos been making fun of this challenge- I challenge you to really think about what this means. Its not about Ice, water- its about awareness in a different way. Years ago JDRF was an unknown organization and it was from small acts that spread that so many people have come to know the organization. ALS is up now. You dont think much about a 5k today but years ago, so many also said It doesnt make sense. ALS doesnt make sense. Thats why research needs to be done. This very act will remind you about ALS, and the next time you see the name or letters, youll know and remember exactly what it is, and who it affects. And think, yeah, I can donate to that because I now know what it is. And it sucks. Since this challenge started, the search for what ALS actually is has multiplied in numbers. Awareness is happening, right now. The donations have surpassed any numbers previously up until this point. Its working. Stop trying to demean its purpose and the work its done. If you think its just about ice and water, youre wrong.
