Thank you Nikki for posting this important documentary. When I grew up, slavery and the post emancipation proclamation period were glossed over chapters in the history books. They focused mainly and often on the success of desegregation by the civil rights movement... as if to say Here is the evidence of our awesome progress. Were all good now, right? You can manipulate people by what you choose to teach and what you choose NOT to teach just as profoundly. This needs to be an uncomfortable reminder to white folks until true equality is achieved.
