The steps of a victorious Christian life 2 Kings 2 : 1-14 INTRODUCTION Curriculum or educational background of an individual allows the environment to provide for him a more or less social future. The apostle Paul advises us in 1 Corinthians 3: 10-15 , be careful how we build on the foundation that is Jesus. This means that the seriousness with which you have built your Christian life will be binding as to the result of your relationship with God or your spiritual career. The text of 2 Kings 2 : 1-14 tells us the story of the end of the ministry of the prophet Elijah and the early ministry of the prophet Elisha. Indeed, the LORD decided to remove ELIE in an undisclosed location ; ELISEE is that GOD has chosen to continue the ministry ( 1 Kings 19: 19-21). Faithful student ELISEE will persist to follow his master throughout the course leading to the removal . The Bible does not say if we knew the spiritual implications of each step would overcome , but must admit , unlike other prophets students , this course was , for him, the propulsion element of the success of his ministry . Look in more detail the course of these two great men DIEU.Il consists of 4 important steps that are the object of our education. Gilgal or CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART Note that the city of Gilgal , whose origin is located in Joshua 5:1-9 is the starting point of their journey . Gilgal was the place of circumcision of Israel . This practice has its origin in Genesis 17: 10 when God confirms his covenant with Abraham . The LORD has taken to mean Joshua to get the people by this act before entering Canaan, it is of paramount importance , because with the Lord nothing is done on a whim and with him everything is structured , everything is ordered , nothing is random . There is not a social life with God without covenant Know that in this new covenant, God gives as a sign of circumcision of our hearts (Hebrews 8: 7-13) . The point thus starting the Christian life is Gilgal. This step must not be bypassed or disregarded . As physical circumcision allowed the Jew to enter the terms of the old covenant , and that which is spiritual ( the heart ) enables the Christian to enter into a new covenant with the woven JESUS CHRIST . Circumcision of the heart leads to: - The new birth or inner transformation : John 3 : 3 - Romans 12 : 2 / / Colossians 3: 8-10 BETHEL or THE HOUSE OF GOD Bethel has its origins in Genesis 28: 10-22 . Formerly called LUZ ( Twisted ) , the city had the same characteristic of life than Jacob s father ( ISAAC ) and his grandfather ( ABRAHAM ) it certainly talked about as the LORD their God. That did not go right or honest , It was after his meeting with the LORD that not only this city will be named BETHEL ( verse 17 ), but also the life of Jacob will undergo a transformation in the meaning of true honesty. ELISEE will go to Bethel during their journey , and it is very significant and important for the disciple of the Lord today . Where is your BETHEL ? Are you one of those who abandon their meeting ? Or those who come to bed at LUZ without the revelation of God need. Well going to school you will have your eyes opened to the physical world , the community you will be attending with love you will have your eyes open to the spiritual world and its realities . The Lord is ready to reward your loyalty and faithful service in his house (2 Timothy 4: 8 / / Matthew 25 : 21, 23). JERICHO or INSTEAD OF COMBAT From verse 4 we enter the stage of Jericho, the city referred to in Joshua 5:13-15 Joshua meeting where the chief of the army of the Lord (Joshua 2) In this chapter, we must understand that the Christian is one who should have an important spiritual dimension because it is known not to behave like a carnal man (or animal) In fact, in Romans 1:14 p.m. it is written . : ... clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh , to fulfill its lusts . / / Galatians 5 : 17-18 The fight that you are called to lead is at three levels: A / flesh (Galatians 5: 16) ELISEE to see from his master , was to defeat the claims of the flesh are among others: Fatigue ( Distances traveled GuilgalaBéthel = 43 km ; BéthelaJéricho = 41.5 Km approximately 85 km instead of the direct GuilgalaJéricho = 5 km). Discouragement from the master and his disciples friends B / The world (1 John 2: 15) ELISHA was a shepherd and a farmer (1 Kings 19: 19 ) He gave up everything to follow ELIE ; Now , his master will disappear , what future for him? In a society where when you have goods you are doing away with it , that could become a future prophet who could not even perform any miracle? C / The devil and his agents ( Ephesians 6: 12) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities , against powers , against the rulers of darkness of this world , against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places. ( Read 1 John 5: 19) How do you live your spiritual warfare ? You are called to overcome these three major enemies of the faith . Joshua led the fight for 7 days, see it in the perseverance with which he led the people of God to victory. 4 . The JORDAN or SYMBOL OF CHRISTIAN TEST It is important first of all to define the concepts of TESTS or DIFFICULTIES and Temptations to grasp the meaning of this last step. According to the French dictionary (Robert) : The test = Suffering, evil , danger experiencing the courage or strength . The event therefore leads often affliction. The story of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1: 5-11 is a beautiful illustration of the concept of events. = The temptation is bringing to violate a religious or moral law, it is an impulse that pushes sin, evil. The story of the disobedience of Eve in the Garden of Eden is a palpable example . Indeed, by the Holy Spirit , the Christian can overcome or dominate temptation ( 1 Corinthians 10: 13 ) For cons , the event , as was the case for JOB , do not lead to disobedience certainly except abandoned but to build character ( Genesis 22 : 1 / / Jacques 1: 3 / / 1 Peter 4: 12). So ELISEE and his master are facing the Jordan (important river in Israel rises in sea salt or Dead Sea in the south and flows into the Kinneret Sea or the Sea of Galilee to the north). How will they continue the race ? This case reminds the people of Israel face to the Red Sea in Exodus 14: 10-12 : The reaction of the people led by Moise is very revealing of our attitudes when the trial of the Christian life is running in our lives. It can not stop mentioning the JOB determination to remain faithful to the LORD when everything went wrong . Verse 7 of our basic text shows 50 students prophets who began away once before jourdain . Perhaps they asked : What will they do? Do - they swim ? These are many reactions that we face of adversity. This is certainly because the Lord knows it will not be easy to follow he exhorted his disciples to take courage (John 16: 33). ELIE man lapped the adversities , the solution to which had certainly not thought ELISEE : The miracle of God or the division of Jordan in two. This step teaches us that at the end of the difficulties is the miracle of God , may not therefore see the miracle that those who have the courage to cross the Jordan ( Apocalypse 2: 10). The test of humility subject to the general Naaman , the Syrian , in the same Jordan (2 Kings 5: 1-19) , is a perfect illustration. It is only after all these steps through the prophet ELIE was revealed to bless his young intern who had thus succeed in his final exam in grade vindicated prophet ( 2 Kings 2:11-13 ) What of todays young Christians ? The example of the apostle Paul should be able to enlighten us : 14 years after his conversion, he received the right hand of fellowship major apostles to his ministry more effective (see Galatians 2: 1-10). CONCLUSION From this study, it emerges that any success getting ready : The sport made training and regular deprivation The researcher has made and continues to make watches studies The planter studied his ground, weapon courage and persévérances to see abundant harvest etc. .... As success is acquired socially , as the Christian has work to do to reach a significant level of spiritual life (Matthew 11: 12). Ø The circumcision of the heart or the new birth Ø Being in the presence of God Ø Conducting proper spiritual warfare Ø Facing adversity ; These are the steps that should enable us to become role models in the Lord GOD BLESS YOU .
