Thank you all for coming along to our Yarn Owls session this morning. It was a lovely little group and I much enjoyed meeting you, chatting and puzzling!! ^_^ Something quite magical happened at the Owl Tree today and I want to tell you about it. A couple days ago a man stopped by the shop to enquire about the project, what kind of work we are doing here and he said he would like to support the project, maybe drop off his tins with change. I thanked him for this kind idea and truly didnt expect anything more to come from it. I wondered if it was maybe more about connecting with a neighbour, I wondered if maybe he was lonely. Well, today he came back into the shop and indeed produced a heavy tin with change and a piggy bank from his backpack. He insisted he wanted to give this to the project and didnt fancy a cup of tea or coffee, he just wanted his piggy bank back. So I emptied all the change into a basket and Emmas boys together with Josie started sorting the money into cups and then into bags. All in all there was a total of £67.12. I am so moved by this kind and thoughtful gesture!! From the very start the Owl Tree has brought together so many people who believe in it, who support it and who feel happy to invest their time, their skills and knowledge, even their money. I will make sure we put this donation to a good use for the Owl Tree. The kids suggested to get some toys for older children like Lego and I was contemplating a blackboard to advertise our corse programme outside the shop.
