Thank you everyone for the bday wishes. I couldnt help but wonder today what I would tell 18 yr old Doug if I could go back. Id probably tell him to spend a little less time in Ropers and a little more time with his grandparents. And cherish the time you have with your mentors, because they cant be there forever. Id tell him to never overuse the word love, and dont ever underuse it either. Forgiveness is something you do for yourself, not for the ones that wronged you. Keep that Bronco, youll miss it when its gone. Trust your instincts, theyre seldom wrong, except when it comes to red heads. Jesus, for the love of God, son, stay away from those red heads. And maybe one blonde. Never be ashamed of your faith. And dont ever stop listening to those sad old country songs. Youll grow into them.
