Thank you for this Christina Rasmussen - perfect timing for me to read as I am preparing for the launch of my next book in October...Ive found it so important to always keep the reader and my relationship with him/her in my mind and heart. Your wise words are a beautiful reminder: When you first think about writing a book, you think that it is your words that will be solely responsible for the book being read. And then you enter the world of publishing and you discover that it nearly has nothing to do with your ability to write. It has to do with your ability to network. Your ability to connect with your audience. People buy your book because of what they think about you. Of course in the history of publishing there have been books that were recognized solely by the words inside the pages. But what I have seen so far in this year....has blown me away. It is much harder than just being a good writer. People buy the book to feel closer to you. To be a part of a relationship.
