Thank you so much for the outpouring of support we received as we participated in our first day of striking. It was amazing how many people drove by, honking, waving, and giving us the thumbs-up! We also very much appreciated the snacks and water that former parents, and even total strangers gave to us! It was wonderful having students and former students come and visit and show their support as well! I have been quite discouraged, and almost heartsick, when I have read the negative comments people have posted over the past weeks or so. Today, however, has truly made me feel like our community is standing up for the educators in our town, and I am truly humbled by the support you are giving to us. Thank you so much, Galesburg!
