Thank you to Faye Roberts for setting up this page which will be linked to our website when we have that set up. Faye has asked me to set out the aims and objectives of the foundation which I will do in a more formal way at some point in the future but initially the plan is to raise as much money as we possibly can by organising various events with all of the foundations supporters helping in any way they can. All of the money raised will be spent on the objectives of the foundation and that is to try and prevent young people ending their lives due to the mental illness that has afflicted them. We have yet to establish what we are going to do as a strategy but initially I think we should have a raising awareness campaign. As I said in a previous post I intended to kick start the site by telling my story with regard to Liam and what happened in his particular circumstance, my reasoning for doing this is by posting his story it may resonate with someone else who is experiencing similar difficulties to those that I faced and is at a loss for what to do or where to to turn as the establishment is letting them down, I see one of the aims of our foundation is to give assistance to that person and provide second opinion help for that person who is ill and then set about breaking down the barriers of the establishment to get that person the medical assistance that they need, if I had had someone to turn to who recognised Liams illness as being serious then he may still be with us today. The above is an example of the aims and objectives of the foundation and we will have to set out a full charter of what and how and where we intend to focus but again as said earlier this foundation is less than two weeks old and we are beginning to gather momentum, it is a reasonable target to have the full infrastructure of the foundation established by say the end of January allowing for the fact that we have Christmas and new year to negotiate. As I said earlier we will not waste a penny of the foundations money and attempt to get as much support from volunteers as we can, already we have had offers from trained counsellors to work for the foundation on a volunteer basis and I am sure we will get offers of help and support in other disciplines as we become more established. This is just an initial introduction and I will submit a more detailed aims and objectives when I have discussed them with the trustees.
