Thank you to all the people who have responded to my wonderful daughter, Rebekahs appeal for support for my son. Isaiah needs to come home today to help him deal with some anxiety he has developed as a result of being at the MTC. Having never served a mission myself I was not able to prepare him for the experience there, and his situation was not ideal as he was the only Dutch speaking elder on campus with no companion to spend time with, study with or work with. The isolation took its toll on him very quickly. I never would have supposed that anyone living in my home would have such a hard time leaving it with all the contention and conflict going on there all the time, but we are now two for two with severely homesick kids who have had extreme difficulty living outside our home on their first try. Without a doubt this is a result of the love of their mother. Suzan and I are confident that Isaiahs plan to take a few months for additional preparation will allow him to metabolize the issues he has experienced and prepare himself to go again, stronger than before, with his eyes wide open as to what to expect. We hope that you will continue to pray for him and support him. In case you are wondering, unless it is decided that the foreign location or language barrier were contributing factors to his anxiety, when Isaiah is ready to go back to the MTC he will retain his calling to the West Indies mission.
