Thank you to everyone who has sent resources and kind thoughts about my mothers situation in Detroit. My sister is doing the best she can, and thanks to my sister and a team of support including Craig Stuntz , Leah Smith, Elena Herrada and of course primarily my saintly sister Madeline Jaks, it looks like we are moving forward in getting her services- inching, but there has been some progress. It is tough! There are weird rules about medicare v medicaid, what county you live in, and actual being granted homeless status is conditional on being taken into a shelter- but they are all full. We have gotten the cats into a temporary foster, thanks to the efforts of Craigs friend Jill, Sophia Raptis, Catherine J Roach and Madeline and her roommate. Please continue to offer your thoughts and prayers- and remember to be tender with yourself and each other. Stuff is just stuff. We are whats important.
