Thanks Anchit Gupta for tagging me! Heres a list of 10 books which have had the most lasting influence on me and played a big BIG role in making me the person I am today. 1. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (Taught me without ever letting me know that i was being taught, what it takes to be a real man) 2. Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson (My lower, middle and higher education) 3. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand ( Shaped my thinking during my all too important teenage years while teaching me how to think and analyze rationally) 4. The Harry Potter Series ( My childhood. In 7 books.Period.) 5. Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger (The only book that comes to my mind when I am in deep shit ) 6. English, August by Upamanyu Chatterjee ( What i turn to when i have no choice but to make friends with deep shit) 7. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller (Taught me that life is one funny story, just needs to be seen the right way by learning how to laugh at the person who deserves it the most- Yourself! ) 8. The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald ( Touches the outwardly-cynical-yet-inwardly-idealistic me.Every single time.Especially the last 4 lines.) 9. A tale of 2 cities by Charles Dickens ( Made me believe in romantic love. And that anyone can be a hero) 10. The adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain (The 1st book i read, which is responsible for all the other books here :) ) After this self important tome of a post, I would like to nominate Arijit Mukherjee, Sunil Sahoo, Arunima Pati, Ruchira Sinha, Soham Panigrahi , Bhavika Chauhan, Hitangi Brahmbhatt and Suman Patra to do the honours (Dont make it as long as mine, if you want anyone who has not time traveled here from the early 40s to read it!)
