Thanks everyone for following me on our live WDIV Food4Thought web chat! Since todays topics were Blood pressure and Cholesterol management with healthy lifestyle – here is the first of two bonus posts tonight on the topics. This one covers cholesterol with some nice basics below from St Joe Oakland in the spirit of National Cholesterol Education month and a detailed web link from my team at the Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa to help keep your cholesterol at a healthier level: · Eating low-fat and high-fiber foods (more fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and whole grains) · Getting at least two hours and 30 minutes of moderate or one hour and 15 minutes of vigorous physical activity a week (or those aged 6-17, getting one hour or more of physical activity each day) · Maintaining a healthy weight · Quitting, if you smoke · Taking medications as your doctor prescribes
