Thanks for the add :-) I am totally FOR the FL. Many many reasons, it would open up job prospects for the youngsters that are recent graduates or college/school leavers without the £2500 yearly ticket to leave the island for work. It would provide easier access for people to travel to University daily without the ridiculous cost and time travelling. Not everyone has the luxury of having family on the island and I begrudge having to pay extortionate amounts to get over to see my family. Especially if I have to travel over urgently if my parents become poorly, I would be waiting hours to get to them. I do work but I cannot afford to just travel over to the mainland with the kids for Christmas shopping or days out. At Christmas time there is one ferry on Christmas Day which makes you feel like youre living on Alcatraz. The tourism and trade it would bring to the island would be beneficial. It would make the island far more accessible to tourists in this low wage time, and vice versa. Theres nothing for the youngsters over here anymore, work wise or for leisure, it needs the FL to modernise the island and give it a massive economical boost. Its just all in all a brilliant idea economically and socially and one that would take this island into the 21st Century.
