This is hard to narrow down but here goes ... 1) Slaughterhouse Five ~ Kurt Vonnegut 2) The Eyes of the Dragon ~ Stephen King 3) Lolita ~ Vladimir Nabokov 4) A Good Man is Hard to Find ~ Flannery OConnor 5) Los Versos del Capitán ~ Pablo Neruda 6) The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test ~ Tom Wolfe 7) Brave New World ~ Aldous Huxley 8) The Tao of Pooh ~ Benjamin Hoff 9) Interpreter of Maladies ~ Jhumpa Lahiri 10) Heart of Darkness ~ Joseph Conrad There are soooo many more, it feels unfair. Those are few that changed the way I saw the world; opened doors to imagination or fear, broke my heart or made me fall in love. Mostly these examples taught me how words can roll and dance and burn when put together just right.
