Thanks for the pleasure of hearing you sing, Once again I am - TopicsExpress

Thanks for the pleasure of hearing you sing, Once again I am hearing my stereo bring, Much loved sounds of the Everlys, unique and moving, Meandering tones that are lovingly soothing, Not that I hadnt been playing your songs, I have for so long that your music belongs. At least it does seem so, I always am humming, An Everly tune as Im hearing the strumming, From somewhere inside me, remembered refrain, Like music to Kentucky, or Crying In the Rain. Reunion, sweet word, two impossible brothers, Ten years is too long to be one from the other. Music or no, I am glad youre together, And hope you will stay that way, now and forever. The voices are different but still the same key, A change that I find to be pleasant to me. I hope youll sing more, sing some songs that are new, And Id sure like to hear of a concert or two. Near my home would be fine, not in England, but here, Id like that, front row, I would quietly cheer. If not, well, Ive listened for twenty-odd years, To the same Everly sound, Ill continue I fear, To drive people crazy who like to hear change, It wont bother me if they think I am strange. But Ill try through this poem to appeal to the Brothers, To write some new songs, like or unlike the others. Whatever which way, you decide to embark, To sing every week, or just once, for a lark, Id just like to say, thanks so much for the pleasure, Your kind of musics a listening treasure. written by Connie Carter c1986 Excerpts From My Meandering Mind Aka Mizpoet Given to Phil in August of 85. For those who wonder about what he said: How do you write like this? (made my day and many more after) ability is inherited-my great-grandmother was the previous poet, he name was Bridget.
