Thanks to Clay McDermott, our newest addition to our staff training crew, and Beth Mahan who has been on our staff forever, our little guy who was very slow in learning to nurse from his mother is now nursing on his own. Clay took the night shift and made sure our boy was getting enough milk replacer to keep his strength up. I fashioned a bottle with a glove finger for the nipple and the baby accepted it beautifully. The glove mimicked the shape and feel of mommas teat so baby got an idea what he was actually looking for. It worked!!! He has just about drained Mommas bag and she is quite happy about that too. Whew!!!! Thanks to everyone for prayers and visualization! (Jill Starr)
