Thanks to Linda McCabe for sharing this and to all who like Jean Beliveau stand up to live lives of great care and compassion for others. I watched his funeral today and I was struck by how few simple grassroots people were able to attend the funeral while the elite were warm and inside included. In the storms of life the common man was outside the circle of those in power. In the cold storm of winter and funerals there is much learning about oppression and overcoming and the valor by which all great leaders live as Martin Luther King. And as a common man Jean Beliveau exemplified by how he treated others. That he never allowed his status in life to ever separate him from the ordinary person. What an example for all leaders in all walks of life.
