Thanks to Lynne MacLean for nominating me. I am voting YES because I believe Devolution is simply not enough, we should be electing the leaders we want to run our country HERE in our country. They should be people who live, work, and care about the people here, and they should be listening to what we want, what we need, and working with us to make this country thrive. We shouldnt just be tacked onto the UK and patronised any longer, it just doesnt work anymore. We have complained about Westminster and their leaders for so long that now is the time to make that change and we finally have the chance to place our future in our own hands. Yes, its scary, yes, we may hit some stumbling blocks along the way. It will take time for the full gravity and ramifications to come to light should we vote Yes, but I urge you, if youre undecided, do some research, dont believe the bbc etc and all the scaremongering, if in doubt feel the fear and do it anyway, dont vote No because its Better the devil you know. Ask anyone who has gotten out of a toxic relationship if they agree with that statement. I guarantee theyll say they wish theyd left sooner. If a child stumbles as it learns to walk does it just give up? No. Neither would we. We may crawl in the beginning but we will get up again and again until we are running and thriving. I have absolute faith. I dont want Trident in Scotland, its a futile deterrent, and the money would be better spent elsewhere. Think of the children. Bairns, not Bombs. Every time. That money could help us provide a fairer society for everyone and protect those who need it most. Im voting Yes to protect our NHS, our Police, our schools. We can stand alone. Its not all about Gas and Oil. We have many thriving industries, and you just need to look at our past to see we have the potential to not only stand on our own feet but to be innovative and Inspiring too. We can do this. We just need to put a cross in the box marked YES. No other comments or marks needed, in fact that will void your vote. Just one cross. Mine will be YES.
